Top Gear has been washing cars in Alberta since 2015, with washes in northeast Calgary, Red Deer’s Gasoline Alley and Olds. Innisfail is the fourth.
The owners care about how a car comes out of the wash, and it shows in where the money has gone here. The automatic was replaced with a new touchless machine when Top Gear took over, and the wand bays have new soft foam brushes, better pressure and touch screens. Is this the old Squeeky Kleen?
Same building on 40 Avenue, under new ownership as Top Gear Car Wash. The automatic bay has been replaced with a new touchless machine and the facility has had extensive upgrades.
Is the automatic still a brush wash?
No. It is a new touchless PDQ LaserWash 360 Plus that cleans with high-pressure water and chemical only, so nothing touches the paint. The foam brushes in the self-serve bays are new too, with soft bristles.
Do I still need tickets?
No. Tap Visa, Mastercard, Interac, Apple Pay or Google Pay at any bay. In the wand bays it pre-authorises and charges you for the time you use. If you would rather pay cash, the office sells time cards for the wand bays and activation codes for the touchless.
